I have owned this album for ever, I have lost pet, cars and husbands, but at 61 I still have my Willie album, it’s so loved. I was raised close to Ft. Worth, where he would play at panther hall every Saturday nite, I would be listening on an old radio that shocked me every time I would plug it up. It was a price I was willing to pay, raises in far ne Texas on a large farm, by grandparents and on Sat. That was my entertainment. I think that was some of those good old days.

This is one of the greatest albums of all time. Not a single bad track.

It's been so long now, but it seem now that it was only yesterday. Ain't it funny how time slips away?

Nobody ever did it better than this version, including Willie himself.

His original version of this song is the best of them all. There are many other great versions to include George Jones, Wanda Jackson, Elvis Presley and more.

I always loved this song by Joe Hinton (1964), but I never knew until today that it was written by Willie Nelson. Beautiful lyrics. And Willie is still at it, more than 50 years later.

I don't know why, but this song always makes me want to dance. I wish someone would dance with me!

They don't write 'em like they used to.  AND, they sure don't sing 'em like they used to.  Thank heaven for YouTube.  Keeps the great music alive and well.

    love Willie!

I love the sad songs. What modern music mostly lacks today is the polish of the old stuff.

    Funny How Time Slips Away
    Willie Nelson
    Well, hello there
My it's been a long, long time
    How am I doin'?
Oh, I guess that I'm doin' fine
It's been so long now but it seems now
    That it was only yesterday
Gee, ain't it funny how time slips away
    How's your new love
I hope that he's doin' fine
I heard you told him that you'd love him till the end of time
Now that's the same thing that you told me, seems like just the other day
Gee, ain't funny how time slips away
    I gotta go now
I guess I'll see you around
You don't never know, never know
When I'll be back in town
But remember what I tell you
    In time, you're gonna pay
And it's surprising how time slips away
    Songwriters: Willie Nelson

I feel ignorant for not knowing how many great songs Mr. Nelson wrote. I really like the relaxed and natural groove of his version.
